About Us
The EG-CID project is scheduled to be held between March 2019 and December 2020 at Alexandria University and Freie Universität Berlin.
Start of the implementation of the Egyptian-German partnership project funded by the German Academic Exchange DAAD between Alexandria University represented by the Faculty of Economic Studies and Political Science and the Free University of Berlin.

Our Goals:
- Expansion of scientific and academic cooperation between the Free University Berlin and the University of Alexandria
- To become a cluster of excellence for economic and political research in the Euro-Mediterranean region ►To strengthen the development-related research network between Egypt and Germany
Implementation:
- Analyzing economic and social aspects of contemporary issues, with a focus on political economics of trade and economic development
- Formulating and disseminating policy advice based on research findings
- Providing research infrastructure to academics willing to research in the field of Euro-Mediterranean studies
- Presenting research results at national and international scientific events as well as at workshops, symposia and colloquia
- Hosting regular events, including summer schools and research symposia
- Annual Summer Schools “Politics & Economics of Mediterranean Development’’
Financing
The project will be fully funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for the entire project period.
